The Theme Park Theme

Posted on November 7, 2010 by Anna Denise
On Sunday I went to a theme park nearby with my brother, to see their yearly Halloween special! It was so much fun and I totally felt like a little kid again (and behaved accordingly, of course). So for today, I wanted to share some theme park themed illustrations I found with you!

Enjoy! I hope you're having a wonderful, childlike day!

These illustrations by Milanese illustrator Christina Amodeo were part of the Pikaland's PikaPackage for Spring 2010 and immediately caught my eye. I love their cheerful and strong simplicity! Link: Flickr

Although the soft hues of this gallery called 'Circus Violet' by Swedish genius-dio Camilla Engman and Elisabeth Dunker (aka Studio Violet) might not be directly what come to mind when invoking the colors of a circus, I think their effect is just as bold. The soft tones and delicate lines combined with the bold graphic shapes show that these girls take their fun seriously! Links: Studio Violet | Camilla Engman | Elisabeth Dunker

Now, I have no idea who the person behind _faux really is, but these stunning posters I saw on Flickr are so inspiring to me! It makes me think of those drawings I tried to make out of letters in Word Perfect back in the days. Which I was of course pretty darn awe-some at. More awesome than my brother at least. And finally, this drawing by Greta Edmondson from Sydney, really hits the nail on the head I think. It totally reminds me of the theme park map I got at the entrance of the park, but like a million times prettier (albeit a little impractical, perhaps). Links: Blog | Flickr
