Babouche Rouge

I'm very sorry to tell you folks, but I've been cheating on you. I've been cheating on blogging with bikram yoga. Yes, the hotter-than-hell type of yoga. It feels so wrong, yet it feels so right.

Anyways, I know I can't leave you for too long without you becoming suspicious, so today I'd like to tell you about one of my new favorite illustrators. Felicita Sala, aka BaboucheRouge, is an illustrator and painter from Rome, Italy. Her style is fairytale like and poetic. I adore the strong lines in her work and the sophisticated use of color and shading.

Felicita's characters seem to really want to tell their story. They're like gossiping neighbors telling you all about the crazy man who showered with his clothes on or the poor neighborhood cleaner who found a lump of gold. You know those kinds of stories. That's what her images remind me of. Great job!
